Would like to add my 2cents to this:

Was extremely happy with my x220, and very fond overall with Lenovo.
Got a T440 at $work, flaky wireless, random freeze at high IO loads,
same goes for a colleague's T430 . Both were sent in for repair, both
returned with no repair done. The T430 is still borked with Windows
installed on it.
Friend of mine has a T460 which again works quite fine under *buntu.

Got now a Dell XPS 15 and for god's sake have a windows installation
ready, because BIOS updates are only provided as a windows binary. I am
on my second machine since August already. 1st one returned because the
charger wasn't charging anymore after 3 days of usage, 2nd laptop now
doing the same after a little over 3 months. Unplugging the battery
resolves the issue for a while, until I get my hands on a Windows
installation. 12 screws with 2 different screwdrivers. \o/

The XPS 15 has the great advantage of not having the RAM soldered to the
board, which is the case at the 13 so if you need to upgrade this is
actually still possible.
(Another friend is very happy with the XPS13 no clue about his linux
flavour though)
