[...] == Afterparty == Buffet, Wein und Ambient/Downtempo Chillout Musik Der Eintritt ist wie immer frei.

// Vasisis and Fotis will also tell about Patras based P-Space --> https://metalab.at/wiki/Arduino_programming_with_codebender --- snip --- Arduino programming with codebender Workshop When: Tue, Oct 28 2014, 20:00 Where: Metalab, 1., Rathausstr. 6 https://metalab.at/wiki/Lage Language: English Lecturer: Vasilis Tzikis Duration: 2-3 hours Hey Metalab, my name is Vasilis, I'm the co-founder of P-Space (the first hackerspace in Greece), and codebender (an online Arduino IDE with ~20k users worldwide). Along with Fotis, one of the guys in the codebender team, we will be hosting an "Arduino programming with codebender" workshop to show people how to program Arduino easier and faster online. We've done this in all the major hackerspaces, and we'd love to share our stuff and discuss with the Metalab people. The aim of the workshop is to show the basics of Arduino, and also using codebender to program better and more efficient, so it's tailored for both new users, and veterans alike. --- snap --- * http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/P-Space * http://codebender.cc/ bring your Arduino & laptop for concurrent hands-on experience free entry as always, you're welcome

*THE SUNFLOWER MOVEMENTOnline Communities, Governments And Transparency* *a lecture by Audrey Tang* Metalab Rathausstraße 6 1010 Wien Samstag, 4.Oktober, um 18:00 https://metalab.at/wiki/Talk_by_Audrey_Tang Shortbio A self-educated programmer and translator based in Taiwan, Audrey currently works with the Taiwanese civic movement g0v, as well as at Apple on localization and release engineering. Audrey has previously designed and led the Pugs project, the first working Perl 6 implementation, and served in language design committees for Haskell, Perl 5, and Perl 6. Some of Audrey’s recent works include a multilingual dictionary visited by millions of people every month and a collaborative web spreadsheet that powered numerous civic movements. g0v g0v.tw is an online community that pushes information transparency, focusing on developing information platform and tools for the citizens to participate in society. Substituting the “o” with “0″ in gov, the new “g0v” not only stands for rethinking the role that the government plays from the bottom up, but also represents the world view of 0 and 1 in the digital natives generation. Based on the spirit of open source, g0v cares about freedom of speech and open data, writing code to provide citizens the easy-to-use information service. The transparency of information can help citizens to have a better understanding on how the government works, to understand the issues faster and to avoid media monopoly, so they can monitor the government more efficiently, and become involved in actions and finally deepen the quality of democracy.
