Resellers and Makerspaces,

Adafruit deeply values its reseller network. Without all of you, Adafruit
would not be able to have close to the same reach, both here in the U.S.
but also the world over.

We've always tried our best to offer the highest discounts where possible,
and for the past few years, we've been proud to be able to offer 40% as the
maximum possible discount for a select portion of our products.

We've grown a lot as a company, expanded our operations, and all the while
have been evaluating the best way for Adafruit to balance a rapidly
expanding reseller market with our own retail sales. After taking a long
and hard look at the best way to price our catalog, the ideal way forward
will be to cap our discounts at 30%. We believe this will be good for both
Adafruit and our distributors ensuring that we have healthy growth, lower
list prices, and allow us to continue making more and more excellent
products at an increasing rate.

This may sound like a big move, but this change will affect less than 1/3
of our products. We realize it may take some time for everyone to adjust,
so want to give our resellers and makerspaces as much time to prepare for
this change as possible. To this end, the discount changes will not be
taking effect until *January 1, 2018*. All orders placed after that date
will reflect the new pricing. Before January 1st, feel free to place orders
to take advantage of the maximum 40% discount while it is in effect.

We greatly appreciate your continued support and business, and we’ll always
strive to serve our distribution partners in the best way possible.
