Schön, dass hier mal jemand eine futurologische Diskussion anreisst.

Ich schliesse mich Steven Hawking an:
"I don't think the human race will survive the next thousand years, 
unless we spread into space. There are too many accidents that can 
befall life on a single planet. But I'm an optimist. We will reach out 
to the stars."

Das für mich wichtigste Zukunftsprojekt der Menschheit wäre ein 
ökonomischer / ökologischer und damit auch billiger Zugang zum Weltraum. 
Sei es ein Space-Elevator, eine Particle Fountain (vielleicht kann man 
das CERN umbauen) oder ein neuartiger Antrieb (z.B. Quantum Vacuum 
Plasma Thruster).
