I think I can spill the beans on that secret technology — there's a
computer-human-computer interface involved, where a child is placed in the
machine and instructed to read an identifier from the tablet screen and
enter it into the number pad visible on the outside of the device.
If we can't get a small child (chinese or otherwise) for the machine,
overflo is even considering asking the machine's customer to do that part.

The tablet is already unbearingly slow as it is. I wonder whether there's
some way to optimize it (for example, by offloading stuff to the GPU by
using 3D transforms).
