 Ok so according to the ifixit guide the cabling is correct, everything
 thats easily accessible on the inside looks a-ok as well, but no signal at
 all.

 Did some measures at different points with an oscilloscope ... nada.

 The xlr socket screw on the bottom of the mic seems to be done for, but as
 already pointed out, I don't see how that would affect the signal path.

 It would still be possible to remove all the solder from the faceplate
 connectors and then take the faceplate off, but I doubt that there's
 anything serviceable behind there.

 Conclusion: Probably wontfix.
 Mic is still at the previously described location though if anyone wants
 to give it another try, maybe i'm just incompetent.
