Hej everyone, as you probably know, we are organizing the Google Chrome Hackathon, where you can hack your ideas into a Chrome Extension or a Chrome Web Application. The price will be a Google ChromeBook, and while every level of experience is welcome, we need you to REGISTER: http://www.gtug.at/p/google-chrome-hackathon.html It only takes a couple of seconds. And trust me, the T-Shirt will look way better if you tell us your real size and don't make us guess it ;) Best, Fabian ---------- message forwarded by Consti ----------

Bitte testen: Wikileaks-Datenbank (Maplat-Demo)
by rene.schickbauer＠magnapowertrain.com 11 Okt '11

11 Okt '11

Hi!

Jumio / HTML/CSS/Javascript
by thomas willomitzer 11 Okt '11

11 Okt '11

Dear Metalab, Sorry to bother you with a boring skill request ... I'm currently looking for a somebody who's skilled in HTML/CSS/Javascript to help us out at Jumio.com (working in Vienna or Linz). Since most members of this list are probably not interested in a "normal" job I'd like to add: It's quite an exciting project and there are a lot of areas that are probably of interest for people on this list. So getting into Jumio (pls Google) opens a window into "advanced" image processing in C++ and AS3 if HTML/CSS isn't the only area you are interested in! Also - you will be working along with the founders of Jajah, Last.FM and Facebook. Skills like Java and Sysops are always welcome of course! Thanks Thomas CTO Jumio <http://www.xing.com/profile/Thomas_Willomitzer> P.S. I'd also like to mention that Jumio is in an early startup phase and Share Options are allocated generously - next to salary of course.

Biohacking news
by Michael Kohl 11 Okt '11

11 Okt '11

Hey all, just a little mail to let you know that I'm still active on the Biohacking front, just not in a very visible way at the moment. *) Less than 2 weeks to our excursion to the Open Lab, yeah! https://metalab.at/wiki/Vienna_Open_Lab_excursion *) Yesterday I met Denisa Kera at the Metalab, who had a lot of interesting input and some good contacts. I updated the wiki page with the projects she made me discover: https://metalab.at/wiki/Biohacking *) As a next step I'd like to get an interesting speaker for a Metaday or something, Howy Jacobs would be an interesting one (scientist of the year in Finland): http://www.uta.fi/imt/finmit/howylab/personnel/howy.php Denisa told me there also might be interesting people in Prague and Germany, I'm waiting for her to send me the names/contacts. *) There's also a guy who tries to get a Biohacking/DIYbio group started in a Finnish hacker space, I'm in touch with him and we'll probably use the Hackerspaces wiki to document our efforts. Hack on, Michi
