*Auftakt von "making.artistic.technology": Workshop mit Mario de Vega &
Victor Mazón Gardoqui in Kooperation mit Artistic Bokeh und dem
donaufestival.*

In Kooperation mit dem donaufestival veranstaltet Artistic Bokeh am 21.
April 2015 einen Workshop mit Mario de Vega und Victor Mazón Gardoqui in
Wien, als Auftakt des Programms "making.artistic.technology". Der Workshop
findet im Artistic Technology Lab an der Universität für Angewandte Kunst
statt.

LIMEN ist ein Workshop zu Datenverkehr und drahtloser Telekommunikation.
Die TeilnehmerInnen konstruieren ein analoges tragbares Gerät, das von
Bluetooth-Datentransfers, WLAN, Mobiltelefonen, GPS, drahtlosen Telefonen,
Mikrowellen und anderen elektronischen Geräten erzeugte elektromagnetische
Aktivitäten in hörbare akustische Bereiche übersetzen kann. Parallel dazu
werden im Workshop Themen im Zusammenhang mit nichtreguliertem
Datenverkehr, Sicherheitslücken, Unterbrechungen, Sperren und Ausspionieren
von Datentransfers diskutiert.

Mario de Vega
Geboren in Mexico City, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin und Mexico City.
Durch unterschiedliche Aktionen und Arbeiten, aber auch Un- und Zufälle,
die im erweiterten Sinn mit akustischer Wahrnehmung zu tun haben,
beschäftigt sich Vega mit den Qualitäten von Angreifbarkeit, Instabilität
und Unbestimmtheit. Er gastierte mit Live-Performances und Ausstellungen
seiner Werke bei vielen Einrichtungen in Mexiko, Südafrika, Indien, Kanada,
Russland, Korea, Japan, den USA und ganz Europa.

Victor Mazón Gardoqui
Geboren in Spanien, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin und Cantabria.
Mazón Gardoqui studierte Bildende Künste auf der Universität Baskenland mit
Schwerpunkt Lithographie und Gravur. Seit 1999 beschäftigt er sich mit
experimentellen Taktiken und Techniken der Medienagitation mittels Sound,
Licht und Elektronik. Seine Arbeiten wurden in Museen, Galerien,
Plakatwänden, TV und Radiostationen in Afrika, Russland, Nepal,
Nordamerika, Kanada, Mexiko und vielen europäischen Ländern gezeigt.

*Start of the "Making Artistic Technology" series: Workshop with Mario de
Vega & Victor Mazón Gardoqui in cooperation with Artistic Bokeh and
donaufestival.*

In cooperation with donaufestival and Artistic Bokeh the workshop LIMEN
takes place at the 21st April 2015 with Mario de Vega and Victor Mazón
Gardoqui .

LIMEN is a workshop about data traffic and wireless telecommunication.
Participants will construct an analogue and portable device able to amplify
electromagnetic activity produced by Bluetooth data transfer, WLAN, mobile
phones, GPS, microwaves, and several other electronic devices into audible
ranges.

Mario de Vega
Born in Mexico City, lives and works in Berlin and Mexico City.
Through actions, accidents, and results with a conceptual connection to
acoustic perception, his work researches the value of vulnerability,
fragility, and indetermination. He has performed live and exhibited his
work in various platforms in Mexico, South Africa, India, Canada, Russia,
Korea, Japan, United States, and all over Europe.

Victor Mazón Gardoqui
Born in Spain, lives and works in Berlin and Cantabria.
Mazón Gardoqui studied Fine Arts at the University of Basque Country,
specializing in Lithography and Engraving. Since 1999 he has been involved
with experimental tactics and techniques for media agitation through the
use of sound, light and custom electronics. His works have been performed
or exhibited in museums, galleries, billboards, urban screens and public
TV/radio stations in Africa, Russia, Nepal, North America, Canada Mexico
and numerous locations across Europe.
