Die Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien sucht ab 1. Juli 2014 eine/n
teilbeschäftigte/n technische/n Mitarbeiter/in (10 Wochenstunden) für das
FWF-PEEK geförderte Projekt “Stitching Worlds” an der Universität
für Angewandte Kunst Wien, Abteilung Industrie Design 2 für die Dauer von 6
Monaten mit Aussicht auf Verlängerung.

Im Rahmen des Forschungsprojektes werden experimentell Möglichkeiten
untersucht mit Hilfe textiler Techniken elektronische Elemente und Objekte
herzustellen. Aufgabe der/des technischen Mitarbeiter/in ist es
das Projektteam im Experimentierprozess zu unterstützen. Dazu gehört auch
die Unterstützung von Workshops mit internationalen Gästen sowie eventuelle
Reisen mit dem Projektteam zu internationalen Netzwerkpartnern.

Anforderungsprofil

/ elektrotechnische Ausbildung oder vergleichbare Kenntnisse

/ fundierte Kenntnisse im Bereich der Analog- und Digitalelektronik und
Schaltungsentwurf

/ Offenheit für experimentelle Projekte und interdisziplinäres Arbeiten

/ Experimentierfreude

/ gute Englischkenntnisse

/ gute Teamfähigkeit

/ österreichische bzw. EU/EWR-Staatsbürgerschaft oder mit gleichgestellter
Anstellungsvoraussetzung

*Duration: *6 months (with the possibility of extension up to 24 months.)
*Working Hours: *10 hours/week (two half days, or one full day and a few
work-from-home hours).
*Salary: *The monthly income is calculated based on the standard ‘Technical
Specialist’ salaries announced by the FWF in 2014. The monthly gross salary
(14 months per year) for 10 hours/week equals to *€ 432,--.*
*Job Description: *The artistic research project deals with developing
electronic components and objects using textile production techniques. The
job of the technical specialist is to support the project team in related
experimental processes. The job also requires supporting workshops that
will be held with international collaborators in Vienna, as well as joining
international research trips.

*Prerequisites:*
- Education in electronics, electronics engineering, or an equivalent field
of study
- Profound knowledge in fields of analogue and digital electronics and
circuit design
- Openness to experimental projects and interdisciplinary work
- Eagerness to experiment
- Good command of English
- Good teamwork and collaboration skills
- Austrian or European Citizenship, or work/residency permit that allows
employment in Austria
