 It currently has a working debian installed (via usb thumbdrive) - thanks,
 Nick.

 The caveat is that there is no graphics driver for the ATI chip this model
 uses.
 Possible solutions:
 * investigate other graphics card options (unlikely)
 * try to get a working AMD driver for this model somehow.

 Since you broke it, would you mind googleing around whether such a driver
 exists?
