 What do you mean with "protective relay"? The RCD (aka FI) in the fuse
 panel at Server-Kammerl or something else?

 What would have happened when nobody plays around and provokes the outage
 by switching high currents?

 I had it run in full temp/all mode for some 10-15min, including switching
 over to only lower heat/top heat, without a problem. I was tempted to use
 it with a frozen pizza but don't wanted to check pricing/modus operandi
 and so I switched off to not waste energy.

 Yes, the "new oven" smell. The cleaning I guess.
