Ask Metalab: Please help decoding this web-request! (eg. ~base64) "?request=CsQCCuABRFFBQUFKd0FBQURCdU..."
by Chris Hager 03 Aug '09

03 Aug '09

Hey Guys! I was checking out what data my G1 is sending to Google via HTTP POST requests, which is somehow encoded. First, here is the request-string which would be nice to see decoded: ?request=CsQCCuABRFFBQUFKd0FBQURCdU5DbG04UEF5NUhyMzkzT1pTSThEcmdsWExNVGdWTTVobjBnbEdhVFk0WGo3bExHTl92MURnVUR5U2lVV281UElUT21KVTdDZEVoWHpwSHI5czQwT01HTkRkSHhvUG1nY2szREJNQ2NkNTNyV0ppTlcweHBhcjUtREljbXVFaWtQaUJURC1SNEJBMTQzSk90bDduVVNrbWNIZjJheG55UVFZTFBuY1RERUZzUnNoN0xfalNJcVpDQXlSajI3Q3g0QkJoLVR5WFNsaWVUR0VwU1hOZTAQABjqByIQMjAwMTQ1ZGE5MGM4NmU1ZioHZHJlYW06MzICZW46AkdCQhBULU1vYmlsZSBBdXN0cmlhSgBSBTIzMjAzWgUyMzIwM2IVYW0tYW5kcm9pZC10bW9iaWxlLWF0EyIKCAQ4AUAASApQABQ I found out that i can partly decode the key (starting at 'CsQCC...') with base64 and see parts of the original string, but still don't get a totally decoded result. (To decode with base64, you have to append "=" at the end of the key). > import base64 > base64.decode64(REQUEST_KEY + "=") Output (with repr): '\n\xc4\x02\n\xe0\x01DQAAAJwAAADBuNClm8PAy5Hr393OZSI8DrglXLMTgVM5hn0glGaTY4Xj7lLGN_v1DgUDySiUWo5PITOmJU7CdEhXzpHr9s40OMGNDdHxoPmgck3DBMCcd53rWJiNW0xpar5-DIcmuEikPiBTD-R4BA143JOtl7nUSkmcHf2axnyQQYLPncTDEFsRsh7L_jSIqZCAyRj27Cx4BBh-TyXSlieTGEpSXNe0\x10\x00\x18\xea\x07"\x10200145da90c86e5f*\x07dream:32\x02en:\x02GBB\x10T-Mobile AustriaJ\x00R\x0523203Z\x0523203b\x15am-android-tmobile-at\x13"\n\x08\x048\x01@\x00H\nP\x00\x14' So these are a lot of hex characters which are not inside the ascii character map. I don't know if this is the right trail, but here is where I don't know how to proceed on myself. It would be very interesting to see how the G1's communicate with Google! Please have a look at it -- perhaps we can solve this puzzle with joined forces! - Chris Jabber: metachris(a)jabber.metalab.at

Join us for a street game of epic proportion in the night of August 7
by Markus Hametner 30 Jul '09

30 Jul '09

Join us for a free street game of epic proportion; a pursuit across the city in multiple parts. =============================================================================== Journey to the End of the Night: Vienna => http://journeyvienna.at =============================================================================== On the night of Friday, August 7 Meetup: a shallow pit in Prater at 20:00 (GPS: 48.20673 / 16.40878, see map) near Tram 1 stop Prater Hauptallee and U2 station Stadion Map & details at http://journeyvienna.at Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, possibly a camera and everyone you think you can outrun. Expect to travel around 10 km, and to be outdoors for two to five hours. =============================================================================== The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses in dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it. For one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find there. Try to make it through a series of checkpoints as quickly and as stealthily as possible, while avoiding being caught by chasers. Should you be captured, you become a chaser yourself and have to pursue your former friends and allies. No skates, no bikes, no cars just your feet and public transport. =============================================================================== *** Please forward this email to anyone and everyone who would like to get chased through the city at night! *** Journey is a game designed by SFZero & paragoogle.org and is licensed under a CC-by-nc license. Its official website is http://totheendofthenight.com/ Since 2006, it has been presented several times by local organizers in Manhattan, Brooklyn, London, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago, Oakland and San Francisco. This first Viennese run is brought to you by a group of enthusiasts centered around Metalab.

Leiwandville, HAR T-Shirts
by Andreas Schreiner 29 Jul '09

29 Jul '09

Hi! Tipps, Anregungen, Zustimmungen, Ablehnungen, Beileidsbekundungen Her damit! Und bitte bald, bis zur HAR ists ja nimmer lang. Danke!!
